Ever have one of those days where everything seems to go wrong? It happens to us all from time to time and it can be difficult to bounce back some days. But here is the thing, we have absolutely no control about what the world throws at us (COVID has demonstrated that rather too well). Now, my intention in bringing this to your attention is not to dishearten you, but to inspire you.
While we have no say over what the world throws at us, we have all the control over how we choose to respond to it. When life seems to be piling it on, it can be easy to forget this and to give away our power and fall mercy to the crap coming our way. But what if we were to reframe this? What if we were able to consider those bad situations, or days, and seek some kind of learning from them?
That would be empowering right? It is not about blindly charging through these days with a smile resolutely pasted on our faces, ignoring the difficulty. It is about looking for opportunities even when it all feels a bit much. Opportunities come in all sorts of forms. Perhaps your crappy day is telling you to take a time out and practice some self care. Perhaps it is an opportunity to practice your resilience and feel proud of yourself for overcoming adversity. Perhaps it is a nudge to remind you that you need to ask for help. Perhaps it is just a thing that happens on the way to something better.
When we are able to find opportunity even in the worst of situations we grow, we develop and we strengthen our resilience and our faith in ourselves.
